The six container sizes
| Size | Dimensions | Weight included | Typical job |
|---|---|---|---|
| 6 yard | 12' x 5' x 3' | filled level full | The only container rated for concrete, brick or dirt. Fits one driveway lane. |
| 10 yard | 12' x 7' x 3.5' | 2 tons | Single-room remodels, garage clean outs, small tear-offs. Same driveway footprint as the 12 yard with a lower wall. |
| 12 yard | 12' x 7' x 4' | 3 tons | Bathroom remodels, garage and basement cleanouts, deck tear-offs. |
| 16 yard | 14' x 7' x 5' | 4 tons | Large household cleanouts with bulky furniture, bigger remodels. |
| 20 yard | 18' x 8' x 4.5' | 4 tons | New construction, full-home cleanouts, larger commercial jobs. |
| 30 yard | 18' x 8' x 6.5' | 5 tons | New builds and commercial jobs with high-volume, lighter debris. |
Concrete, brick, dirt and asphalt go in the 6 yard container and no larger size. That is an axle weight limit rather than a policy. Full detail on each size is on the dumpster sizes page.
Rental terms
- Length: one flat rate covers a full week, with a three day grace period on top at no extra charge.
- Rate: the same whether you fill the container the first afternoon or keep it the whole time. Every job is quoted on the phone.
- Weight: included up to each container's limit, listed above.
- Mattresses: $25 each.
- Delivery: same day when the route allows. Call with the date and you get a yes or no on that call.
- Switch-outs: when a container fills before the job is done, we take it away and set a fresh one in the same spot.
What goes in, and what does not
Accepted: wood, flooring, carpet and drywall, plus household debris like furniture, toys, clothes, appliances and electronics
Not accepted: hazardous, flammable or liquid material (oil, gasoline, paint unless fully hardened), tires, and household food waste
Permits
In the suburbs, a container on your own driveway or private lot normally needs nothing from the village. Street or parkway placement is the village's decision. Inside Chicago the container permit belongs to the hauler, which is us, on private and public property alike, so you do not file one. Details and the city's own source are on the Chicago page.
How to order
Call 630-850-0770 with four things: the town, what is going in the container, roughly how big the job is, and the date you need it. That is a two minute call and you get the price on it. You can also send those four things and we call you back, or answer four questions to get a size first.
Book a container
Call and describe the job. We size the container with you, give you the price on that call and book the date. Same-day delivery when the route allows.
