House, Garage and Basement Cleanout Dumpsters

Furniture, appliances, boxes and twenty years of garage. We size it on the phone and set it on the driveway.

Our own trucks, out of our own yard in Lemont, since 1998. The person who answers the phone is the person who sends the driver.

What size dumpster do I need for a house cleanout?

A cleanout fills on volume rather than weight, so judge it by how much floor the pile would cover. A single room or a garage is usually the 12 yard, about three to four pickup loads. A full house with furniture is the 16 or 20. Furniture, appliances, electronics and carpet all go in the same container, and mattresses are $25 each. Call 630-850-0770, describe the rooms, and we pick the size with you on that call.

Judge the pile in pickup loads, not cubic yards

The 12 yard takes about three to four pickup truck loads, the 16 yard about five, the 20 about six to seven. Nobody has an instinct for a cubic yard and everybody has one for a pickup bed, so that is the measure we use on the phone.

What goes in, and the one item that costs extra

Construction debris including wood, flooring, carpet and drywall, plus household contents: furniture, toys, clothes, appliances and electronics. Mattresses are accepted for $25 each. Not accepted: hazardous, flammable or liquid material including oil, gasoline and paint that has not fully hardened, tires, and household food waste.

A full week on the driveway, and three grace days on top

A cleanout that starts on a Saturday and finishes the following weekend is one rental at one rate. The container sits where you want it, you fill it on your own schedule, and you call when it is ready to go.

Clearing a house for a sale or an estate

Sellers clearing a house before it lists have their own page: listing prep and move-outs. Executors and families emptying a whole house: estate cleanout dumpsters. Both run on a date somebody else set, so give us that date when you book and the container is there ahead of it.

We had a great experience with the company. Our driver, Ken, was on time and professional, and very friendly throughout the process. He was contracted through our patio company, and made sure to place the dumpster exactly where we wanted it and was respectful of our property. We appreciate the excellent customer service and attention to detail. Highly recommend! If we ever have the need for a dumpster, we would definitely use your company.

Wastebox is the absolute best. They show up on time and pick up right away. Our driver Art was the best driver ever. He took a look at our driveway because of the slope and went above and beyond to make sure it was safe to drop the dumpster with the pitch of the driveway. Art is the real deal and wastebox is Lucky to have him. They are the best dumpster business in Chicago. Art also took the time to cut wood to protect the driveway and landed it exactly where we wanted it. Use Art and wastebox !

Cleanout dumpster questions

What size dumpster do I need for a house cleanout?

A single room or a garage is usually the 12 yard, about 3 to 4 pickup loads. A full house with furniture is usually the 16 or 20 yard. Cleanouts fill on volume rather than weight, so judge it by the size of the pile.

Can I put furniture and appliances in a dumpster?

Yes. Furniture, appliances and electronics are all accepted. Mattresses are accepted for an additional $25 each.

What can I not put in a cleanout dumpster?

Hazardous, flammable or liquid material including oil, gasoline and paint that has not fully hardened, tires, and household food waste.

How long can I keep the dumpster for a cleanout?

One flat rate covers a full week, with a three day grace period on top at no extra charge. The rate is the same whether you fill it the first afternoon or keep it the whole time.

How much does a cleanout dumpster cost?

We quote every job on the phone, because the price depends on the size, the town and what you are throwing away. How the price is built: one flat rate covers a full week, with a three day grace period on top at no extra charge, and the rate is the same whether you fill the container the first afternoon or keep it the whole time. Weight is included up to the container's limit, 3 tons in the 12 yard, 4 tons in the 16 and 20, 5 tons in the 30. The 6 yard is rated to be filled level full, which is what makes it the container for concrete, brick and dirt. Mattresses are $25 each. Tell us the town, what is going in it, roughly how big the job is and the date you need it, and we will price it on that call.
