What size dumpster do I need to clear a house before listing?
A pre-listing cleanout is a volume job: furniture, boxes, carpet and the contents of a garage fill a container long before they reach its weight limit. A single room or a garage is usually the 12 yard, a whole house with furniture the 16 or 20. Give us the photo date when you book and we schedule the pickup ahead of it, so the driveway is clear in the listing pictures. Call 630-850-0770.

I've used Wastebox twice so far and have nothing but good things to say about them. The person I spoke with on the phone was courteous and helpful at explaining prices. I called around 7AM and my dumpster was delivered before noon. Their driver Jason was helpful and was able to position the dumpster in a way to preserve vehicle access to the garage while the dumpster was in the driveway. Finally, Wastebox is good with communications. They text about 30 minutes prior to arriving for drop off and pick up. Overall, a great company that I'd use again and recommend to others.
I ordered a 16 yd box. The driver was very careful in placing the box in a difficult location and avoided damaging anything. They were also prompt in pickup and left no trace in the area. I did go over my load by one ton. Beth notified me and was able to settle tge account promptly.

He took a look at our driveway because of the slope and went above and beyond to make sure it was safe to drop the dumpster with the pitch of the driveway. I've been using Wastebox for a few years. I love these folks. When I call for an order, the ladies pick up and arrange for delivery very timely and are so polite and easy to work with. My driver Art, was great! I asked him if it would be possible to drop my dumpster in a narrow spot with not much clearance. He told me "I can do it with my eyes closed, but for safety reasons I'll keep them open". He actually then suggested a better spot, and that worked out great! Yes. Tell us the photo date when you book and we schedule the pickup ahead of it. One flat rate covers a full week, with three grace days on top.
Do you work with real estate agents?
Yes. Agents give their sellers our number, the seller calls, and the person who answers is the person who dispatches the truck. There is no account to set up.
Can furniture, mattresses and appliances go in?
Yes. Furniture, appliances and electronics are accepted. Mattresses are accepted for $25 each. Hazardous, flammable or liquid material, tires and food waste are not.
Does the seller need a permit for the dumpster?
Not for a driveway in the suburbs, normally. Street placement is the village's call. Inside Chicago the container permit belongs to the hauler, which is us.
How much does a dumpster cost for a move-out cleanout?
We quote every job on the phone, because the price depends on the size, the town and what you are throwing away. How the price is built: one flat rate covers a full week, with a three day grace period on top at no extra charge, and the rate is the same whether you fill the container the first afternoon or keep it the whole time. Weight is included up to the container's limit, 3 tons in the 12 yard, 4 tons in the 16 and 20, 5 tons in the 30. The 6 yard is rated to be filled level full, which is what makes it the container for concrete, brick and dirt. Mattresses are $25 each. Tell us the town, what is going in it, roughly how big the job is and the date you need it, and we will price it on that call.
