Estate and Probate Cleanout Dumpsters
For executors, families and the attorney handling a house that has to be emptied. A whole house is a big volume job on somebody else's schedule, and both of those things shape how we run it.

The short answer
A whole house with a lifetime of contents is the 20 or 30 yard, and it is often two containers rather than one. Furniture, boxes, clothes, appliances and electronics all go in the same box; mattresses are $25 each. The container stays ten days at one rate, and when it fills before the house is empty you call for a switch-out and a fresh one takes its place. The people who answer the phone are the people who send the truck.
Sizing a whole house
Picture the contents as pickup truck loads rather than cubic yards: the 20 yard takes roughly 6 to 7, the 30 yard more again, and the difference in footprint is only the height, both are 18 feet long. If the house has a full basement and a garage as well, plan on two containers or a switch-out and say so when you call. Full detail is on the cleanout page.
The family is in for the weekend
A closing date, a court date or a family travelling in for two days is not a schedule you can move. Tell us the dates when you book and the container is there before they arrive. The week plus three grace days means a job that slips a few days does not become a second invoice.
What goes in, and the few things that do not
Construction debris including wood, flooring, carpet and drywall, plus household contents: furniture, toys, clothes, appliances and electronics. Not accepted: hazardous, flammable or liquid material including oil, gasoline and paint that has not fully hardened, tires, and household food waste. Old paint cans and garage chemicals are the usual estate surprise, so set them aside before the container comes.

What size dumpster do I need for a whole house?
A whole house with furniture is usually the 20 or 30 yard. If there is a full basement and a garage as well, expect two containers or a switch-out. Call with a rough description and we size it on that call.
What happens if the container fills before the house is empty?
Call for a switch-out. We take the full one away and set a fresh container in the same spot, at the rate for that container. Two containers side by side from the start is also common on a big house.
Can old furniture, mattresses and appliances go in?
Yes. Furniture, appliances and electronics are accepted. Mattresses are accepted for $25 each.
Can you deliver before the family arrives?
Yes. Give us the dates when you book and the container is on the driveway before they get there. Same day is possible when the route allows.
How much does an estate cleanout dumpster cost?
We quote every job on the phone, because the price depends on the size, the town and what you are throwing away. How the price is built: one flat rate however long you keep it, a week plus a three day grace period, ten days maximum, and the same rate whether you fill it the first afternoon or keep it the full ten days. Weight is included up to the container's limit, 3 tons in the 12 yard, 4 tons in the 16 and 20, 5 tons in the 30. The 6 yard is rated to be filled level full, which is what makes it the container for concrete, brick and dirt. Mattresses are $25 each. Tell us the town, what is going in it, roughly how big the job is and the date you need it, and we will price it on that call.
