What size dumpster do I need for a bathroom remodel?

Tub, vanity, toilet, tile and drywall make a small room produce a big pile.

Where each one fits

WM lists its 20 yard for kitchen or bathroom remodels (WM, checked October 12, 2026). For one bathroom, that is the upper end for us.

• 12 yard: one bathroom, most fixtures out, some tile and drywall.
• 16 yard: one bathroom fully gutted, or two small baths.
• 20 yard: a bath plus the kitchen, or a whole floor.

Tile and heavy pieces

Bagster notes that tile, shingles and drywall count as heavy debris in some markets. Tile on a mortar bed is heavy, so tell us how much tile is coming out. Concrete goes in the 6 yard only. A cast iron tub is heavy too. Ask us about the weight when you call.

• Plan the carry. Set the box near the door the debris leaves from.
• Break the tub and vanity down before you carry them if you can.
• Keep the driveway clear so the truck can set the box.
• Place it with the driver. Customers say it lands where they asked.
