Can You Put Concrete in a Dumpster?

Yes, but only in the 6 yard dumpster. Concrete is heavy, so WasteBox keeps concrete, brick and dirt to the 6 yard.

Why concrete goes in the 6 yard only

HomeGuide says a box filled with heavy debris such as concrete or brick can go over its weight limit, the truck cannot remove it, and extra fees follow.

Illinois EPA lists concrete and bricks as general construction and demolition debris that landfills accept. The limit is weight, not the material. See our concrete dumpster page and the 6 yard dumpster.

Another use for broken concrete

Illinois EPA says broken concrete without protruding metal bars may be used for erosion control. Ask your village before you reuse it.

WasteBox's rule

Concrete goes in the 6 yard only, filled level full. It can share the box with brick and dirt.
